Challenges related to the security of 5G infrastructure were the focus of a workshop organised by NASK, the Office of Electronic Communications, and the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center on April 1, 2026 as part of the 5G-TACTIC (5G Trusted And Secure Network Services) project.
5G technology constitutes a component of critical infrastructure, used not only in telecommunications services but also in industrial systems, transport, and public services. Therefore, ensuring an adequate level of security for deployed solutions is of key importance.
During the workshop, approaches to security assessment were discussed in the context of the entire supply chain from manufacturers and integrators to the final use of the technology. Particular attention was paid to the role of certification as a tool supporting the verification of the security of ICT products, processes, and services.
The discussion also covered European initiatives related to 5G security, including the EU NESAS scheme, which aims to harmonise the approach to assessing the security of equipment and software used in telecommunications networks.
These activities contribute to the development of national competencies in the field of cybersecurity certification and support building trust in solutions used within digital infrastructure.
