On June 26, 2025, in Warsaw, the Polish Parliament passed legislation establishing a national cybersecurity certification system. The new regulations, developed by the Ministry of Digital Affairs, introduce voluntary cybersecurity certificates for ICT products and services, which will be automatically recognized across the European Union (link to source). Thanks to this system, manufacturers will be able to demonstrate the resilience of their solutions against digital threats, while users will be empowered to choose secure technologies.
“We are creating a solution that helps build the reputation and competitiveness of Polish companies. For citizens, it means the ability to make informed choices about solutions that guarantee greater security,” emphasized Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs.
Certificates will be issued under both national and EU schemes, with defined trust levels (from basic to high). The Ministry of Digital Affairs will oversee the system. Certification will also include the assessment of IT specialists’ competencies.
This law strengthens the country’s digital resilience and supports the development of secure technologies in Poland.
