ICT/AI Testing and Experimentation Facility

IoT Product Security Testing
The ICT/AI Testing and Experimentation Facility conducts testing of consumer Internet of Things products for compliance with the cybersecurity requirements set out in the ETSI EN 303 645 standard, using the ETSI TS 103 701 assessment methodology.
On 27 May 2026, the Facility obtained accreditation from the Polish Centre for Accreditation for testing laboratories (certificate no. AB 1967). The accreditation confirms compliance with the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard with regard to product testing against the cybersecurity requirements set out in ETSI EN 303 645 and ETSI TS 103 701 (scope of accreditation).
The Facility’s accredited scope of activities includes the testing of electrical products and equipment, software, telecommunications products and equipment, as well as electronic products and equipment.
IoT Research Laboratory
As part of its testing activities, the Facility verifies solutions implemented in consumer IoT products and assesses their compliance with cybersecurity requirements. Testing may involve both an analysis of product documentation and a technical verification of the implemented security mechanisms.
Testing covers, in particular:
  1. assessment of authentication and password management mechanisms,
  2. identification of vulnerabilities and assessment of the attack Surface,
  3. verification of the product’s resilience against selected attack scenarios,
  4. assessment of data and communications protection measures,
  5. preparation of a test report presenting the results of the testing performed.

The testing enables manufacturers, importers and distributors to obtain an independent assessment of a product’s security level and documented evidence of the verification results. Contact the Facility to discuss the scope of testing and receive an offer tailored to the specific characteristics of the product.

Proficiency Testing Providers (OBB – Organizator Badań Biegłości)
Within the structure of the ICT/AI Testing and Experimentation Facility, a Proficiency Testing Provider has been established, responsible for organizing proficiency testing schemes and interlaboratory comparisons in accordance with the following standards:
  • EC 62443-4-2 ETSI
  • EN 303 645

In 2025, the first interlaboratory comparison in these areas was conducted in Poland. Further rounds of comparisons are scheduled in the near future, and laboratories are cordially invited to participate. These initiatives represent an excellent opportunity to enhance competencies in the testing of emerging technologies.

The Proficiency Testing Provider is also in the process of preparing for accreditation in accordance with the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17043:2023.

Reference Material Producers (RMO)
The Reference Material Producer, operating within Standardisation and Certification Centre and in cooperation with the ICT/AI Testing and Experimentation Facility, offers reference materials in three areas:
  1. Internet of Things (IoT)
  2. Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS)
  3. Language Models
All reference materials are produced in accordance with proprietary procedures developed by IT specialists employed at NASK PIB.

The development of reference materials aims to foster the standardization of emerging technologies and to support the growth of the Polish IT sector. The Reference Material Producer is currently preparing to obtain accreditation in accordance with the requirements of PN-EN ISO 17034:2017.
